Donahue Football: Shamrocks 28, Hollywood Christian 0

A tough Donahue Shamrocks defense gave up fewer than 70 total yards Friday night as the Shamrocks shut out Hollywood Christian 28-0 in a seven-man football game in Hollywood.

John Hurley started his first game at quarterback and was 9/20 for 93 yards passing with 1 touchdown and one interception. He also had 48 rushing yards on 9 carries and one rushing TD and a rushing conversion.

Daniel Nagy added 2 rushing TD's and Matt Houde had one receiving TD.

Defensively Joe Chmielowski had 8.5 tackles and two sacks, Nathan Gay added nine tackles with one sack and Max Krepf had six tackles and one sack, while Joe Deliso added two interceptions.

The win, Donahue's second shutout of the season, improves their record to 3-1.

"It was a good all around effort and we look forward to improving our technique next Saturday at home against Miami Christian," said Coach Rich Scanlon.

That game is at 7 p.m. on the Donahue home field at North Park in Ave Maria.
