Complaints Keep Rolling In About Rogue Virginia Charter Bus Company

The wheels of justice are turning slowly in Ave Maria University's efforts to recover $18,000 that was paid to a charter bus company in Virginia last January for buses that never showed up to take students to Washington, DC, for the March for Life.
The company, Charter Bus R Us, agreed to repay the money in monthly installments, but the first two monthly checks both bounced, AMU Chief Financial Officer Eugene Munin told the Ave Herald. The matter was referred back to law enforcement agencies in Virginia, but a spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department said Tuesday that they consider the criminal investigation closed because a settlement was reached, even though the bus company is not living up to the terms of that settlement.
"We will continue to pursue civil action," Mr. Munin said.
The bus company has had numerous similar complaints lodged against it. Most recently, a local Washington television station reported last week that a Gaithersburg, MD, track team is owed more than $6,000 it paid to Charter Bus R Us for transportation that never materialized. The Ave Maria University students were able to get to Washington for the march in January when the university paid for another bus company to transport the students.
