The Quasi Parish of Ave Maria plans to resume holding a Vigil Mass on Saturdays during the coming academic year, Pastor Robert Tatman and AMU Director of Campus Ministry Robert McTeigue said Tuesday.
Although Vigil Masses used to be celebrated in the Ave Maria Oratory, they have not been offered for the last two years, which made the Ave Maria parish one of a very the few parishes – if not the only one – in the Diocese of Venice that had no Vigil Mass.
The Vigil Mass, which is scheduled to begin Sept. 1, will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Saturdays when Ave Maria University is in session.
The Sunday Mass schedule will be unchanged from the last academic year, with Ordinary Form Masses in English at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Mass in the Extraordinary Form in Latin at 12:30 p.m.
