Local County Commission Candidates Have 3 Forums Coming Up

Incumbent District 5 Commissioner Jim Coletta and his Republican primary challenger, Tim Nance, will appear at three candidate forums in the next two weeks -- on July 16, July 19 and July 25. Ave Maria University Economics Professor Joseph Burke will be a panelist at the July 16 forum, moderated by Jeff Lytle of the Naples Daily News, at the University of Florida Extension Office at 14700 Immokalee Rd. near the county fairgrounds.

DEBATE NUMBER #1

On Monday, July 16 at 5:30 pm , the Naples Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Candidate Forum for the District 5 race between Tim Nance and Jim Coletta. Jeff Lytle, Editorial Page Editor for the Naples Daily News will be the moderator for this forum. The forum will be held at the University of Florida Extension Office, 14700 Immokalee Road.

DEBATE #2

On Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 pm, the Golden Gate Estates Area Civic Association, the Homeowners Association of Golden Gate Estates, and the Corkscrew Island Civic Association will sponsor a Candidate Debate for the District 5 Commission Seat between Tim Nance and Jim Coletta. The proceedings will be moderated by Dave Elliot of WGUF 98.5 FM. Doors will open at 6:30 PM. The debate will be held at the University of Florida Extension Office, 14700 Immokalee Road.

DEBATE #3

Wednesday, July 25 at 6:00 pm, the Golden Gate Estates Area Civic Association, the Naples NAACP, the Golden Gate City Civic Association and the Homeowners Association of Golden Gate Estates will be sponsoring a Candidate Forum for all of our local Candidates. The proceedings will be moderated by Dave Elliot of WGUF 98.5 FM. The District 5 race between Tim Nance and Jim Coletta will be highlighted. All attendees will be invited to participate in a Straw Vote, conducted by Jennifer Edwards, Collier Supervisor of Elections. This forum will be held at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway.
