Karate Students Win Honors, Promotions

Laura Buccheri of Hampton Village won a bronze medal at a regional American Athletic Union (AAU) regional tournament at Fort Pierce, FL. The 10-year-old is pictured at right with instructors Sensei Pat Hurley (left) and Sensei Stacy Hurley. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Laura is also pictured at left (second from right) along with four students at the Wasenshi Dojo karate school in Ave Maria who received recent promotions in belt rank. Pictured at left (l-r):  James Grace earned his yellow belt (7th kyu); Elena Doman earned her orange belt (8th kyu); Sempi Liam Kelly earned his apprentice black belt (Shodan-ho) - the first home grown Ave Maria karate student to earn their black belt; and Professor Pat Kelly of AMU earned his blue belt (5th kyu).
