Work Under Way at Site of Arthrex Facility

Work crews have begun clearing land and preparing the 21-acre site of Arthrex's manufacturing facility off Oil Well Rd. in Ave Maria.

Arthrex Vice President Scott Price said in an interview that the company has received bids from several builders to construct the 160,000-square-foot structure and will choose the contractor soon. "We anticipate starting on the building in three or four months, depending on permitting," he said.

Once construction on the building begins, Mr. Price said the company expects it will take 12-14 months for the facility to be ready.

Arthrex said in its application to Collier County for incentives that the plant would employ 150 people at an average annual salary of $46,000.
