Love is Theme of Art Exhibition Print E-mail
Wednesday, 17 February 2010 10:43

The evening will also include talks by two Ave Maria professors -- Theology Professor Dr. Michael Waldstein, who will speak at 7:15 p.m. and Literature Professor Dr. Michael Raiger, who will talk at 8 p.m. on "Aesthetics and Ethics from Dante to John Paul II." Another professor, Dr. Ellen Fangman, will read poetry.

This is the first year for the exhibition, which was organized by AMU senior Rose Tomassi and Lauren Dionne, who is head of the university's Fra Angelico Art Club.

"I wanted a forum for art expression by students, faculty and members of the Ave Maria community," Miss Tomassi said. "Because 'love' is a recurring theme in art, it seemed right."

The event is being held outside the residence halls near the campus swimming pool. Complimentary wine and cheese will be served.

Anyone wishing to submit something for the exhibit can do so until 9 p.m. Wednesday night. Details are in the Ave Herald's calendar entry here.

The exhibition is sponsored by the university's Fra Angelico Art Club and the Communion and Liberation group.
