The Ave Maria Master Association is holding a 'meet the cand
idates' event Tuesday\, April 18\, at which all three candidates for the s
eat on the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District will be present. The m
eeting is at the Master Association offices at 5076 Annunciation Circle fr
om 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will offer an opportunity to speak with candidates
Kyle Armstrong\, Jeff Fenuccio and Robb Klucik.
The election w
ill be held a week later\, Tuesday\, April 25.
The winner will
be the first member of the five-person board to be directly elected by re
sidents in a popular-vote election. Other seats will remain chosen by a 'l
andowners' election in which votes are allocated by amount of property own
ed in Ave Maria\, meaning that those members will be chosen by the develop
ers.
Polls will be open from noon to 7 p.m. April 25 to choose th e first member of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District to be elete d directly by residents. Voting will be in the offices of the Ave Maria Ma ster Association and must be done in person -- no early voting or absentee voting. Any resident of Ave Maria who is registered to vote in Collier Co unty is eligible to vote in the special election.
