Prof. Rev. John Wauck of the pontifical university Santa Croce in Rome will lecture on the timely topic "Church Communication in the Age of Francis" Tuedaay, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. in room 1025 of the AMU academic building.
He also will lecture on a different topic, "Walker Percy's Fables of Alienation." Wednesday, Sept. 25 at noon in room 1026 of the academic building.
Both lectures are free and open to the public.
Prof. Rev. Wauck is Assistant Professor of Literature and Communication of the Faith at Santa Croce in Rome, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Fr. Wauck is a Chicago native, studied history and literature at Harvard University and holds a doctorate in philosophy from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Prior to ordination, he wrote speeches for the attorney general of the United States and the governor of Pennsylvania. He has written for many publications, including American Scholar, Christian Science Monitor, The New Criterion, Beliefnet, and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Quarterly. He has also commented on Church affairs for CNN, BBC, ABC, CBS, Associated Press TV, Reuters, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Time magazine, and U.S. News and World Report. Currently he teaches Literature and Communication of the Faith at Santa Croce.
He is visiting Ave Maria University to promote relationships between our two universities and to share information with our students about graduate study in Rome.
