FREE PUBLIC LECTURE: Monsignor Andrew Wadsworth
One of the fruits of Vatican Council II has been the introduction of the vernacular languages into the Mass. The International Commission on English in the Liturgy (ICEL) has been at the forefront all along in rendering the Roman Missal into English. More recently, the revision of this translation was seen through to its completion by Monsignor Andrew R. Wadsworth, an English priest, when he was appointed Executive Director of ICEL.
Co-sponsored by the Department of Theology, the Department of Music, and the Office of the Academic Dean, Monsignor Wadsworth will be presenting a public lecture at Ave Maria University on Thursday, February 14th, at 7:00 p.m., in the Demetree Auditorium of the Henkels Academic Building. His lecture topic will be: "Making the most of the Missal - Challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the new English translation of the Roman Missal". Music Professor Susan Treacy writes: "Monsignor Wadsworth is a brilliant scholar and an engaging speaker; I hope you will be able to join us."
